In the incident reported near Angala Parameshwari temple on Magadi Road, a 27-year-old lab technician was killed on Sunday morning after she was run over by a bus.
The deceased, Yashaswini, was a native of Bhadrawathi near Shimoga and was staying in a PG accommodation at Padarayanapura near Mysore Road. She was working at a private hospital in Rajajinagar.
Police said that the victim was going on a TVS Scooty towards Binny Mill on Magadi Road to meet a friend. Around 7 am, a speeding bus hit her two-wheeler near Angala Parameshwari temple and ran over her.
She died on the spot and the bus driver was arrested in this connection. In another incident, a 35-year-old traditional healer was knocked down by a BMTC bus on Channasandra Main Road.
The deceased, Siddaiah, was a resident of Yantaganahalli near Nelamangala. Police said that Siddaiah was going on his bike to his sister’s house in Chikka Tirupati when the accident occurred.
His bike was hit by a BMTC bus from behind on Channasandra Main Road and as he fell down, the bus ran over him killing him on the spot. The bus also hit another biker, Manjunath, 31, before stopping. Manjunath has been admitted to a hospital with head injuries. The bus driver absconded after the incident. Whitefield traffic police have registered a case in this connection.
