No truck with Telugu Desam for now, says Pydah Krishna Mohan
The alliance with the Telugu Desam was not discussed at the state level so far and the party.
Rajahmundry: The alliance with the Telugu Desam was not discussed at the state level so far and the party strongly feels that it should go it alone in the forthcoming polls for both Lok Sabha and state Assembly, said BJP state EC committee member, Vizag city party incharge and former Vizag Port Trust member Pydah Krishna Mohan.
The veteran leader who is associated with the party right from Janata Party days in late seventies and later with the BJP since its formation, on Sunday said that though the talk of an alliance with the TD is making rounds, no such discussion has come in the party fora so far.
Said to be a close associate of former BJP national president and Rajya Sabha member M. Venkaiah Naidu, Krishna Mohan observed that though the party is inclined for formation of Telangana state they will never compromise on any injustice to Seemandhra on the issue.
The interests of Seemandhra people should be taken care of and various issues such as Polavaram project, employment and sharing of waters should be addressed first, he said.
He strongly advocated that Bhadrachalam division should be included in Seemandhra region because of the Polavaram project issue as there are 134 villages which are likely to be submerged after the execution of the project.
Commenting on the unclear mandate for the BJP in New Delhi polls, the senior leader admitted that because of the presence of AamAdmi Party, the number of seats for the party has come down. Krishna Mohan also observed that if the party at the national level takes a decision on alliance with the Telugu Desam, they will have to obey it.
