The Hindi film industry is poised to have a one-of-a-kind festival for its die-hard fans, which will be aptly titled The Bollywoodland. The festival, which is the brainchild of writer, filmmaker Muazzam Beg, hopes to unite fans across India. The festival is also expected to play an important role in Beg’s latest venture called Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai, which is his tribute to superstars Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
The director, who has written the screenplay for Rockstar, is organising this festival along with the star cast of his film. They have plans of inviting top brass film personalities to be a part of this special event, which will also include Dutt’s and Khan’s families. The first look of Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai will be launched on Salman’s birthday, December 27 and on the same day they will also make a formal announcement of the festival. Envisioned as an annual affair, the festival will be held from February 13 -15, 2014.
Beg says, “It will be the first festival of Bollywood. The opening ceremony will be dedicated to fans of Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.” Expected to attract a minimum of 25,000 fans, the festival will feature in a 10-minute footage in the climax of the film Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai. Beg also hopes that the festival will provide a platform for various Bollywood aspirants to showcase their skills through various shows and contests.
