Kochi: Retired DySP C.P. Philip has moved Kerala High Court seeking a directive to the Union Public Service Commission not to confer IPS on V. Gopalakrishnan, current Principal of the Police Training College, Thiruvananthapuram.

The petitioner  argued that Gopalakrishnan is a tainted official and that he is allowed to occupy the  post of Principal, Police Training College, due to his influence.

The petitioner alleged that clandestine attempts were  made to include him in the list for selection and appointment to the IPS Kerala cadre. There was  also an attempt to suppress the criminal cases against him.

ADGP Senkumar had submitted a confidential report against the controversial official in 2007 in connection with an assault case pending against him, the petitioner  argued. Goplakrishnan is imparting lessons on custodial torture and other torture methods, it was alleged.
