Sivakarthikeyan dons
The actor is moving away from comic protagonist to action hero with his forthcoming film, 'Maan Karate'.
Sivakarthikeyan is going places! The year 2013 clearly belonged to him.
He is slowly moving away from comic protagonist to action hero with his forthcoming film, 'Maan Karate'. It has a sports backdrop where he portrays a timid kick boxer who later turns bold and brings laurels to the country.
Looks like his action avatar will continue from the beginning of 2014 as well. With police stories turning out to be a favourite with Tamil heroes, like Arya, who essays a tough cop in 'Meagaamaan' and Jayam Ravi in his bro Jayam Raja’s untitled flick, Sivakarthikeyan had also been roped in for a film which is said to be titled 'Taana' and has a police backdrop.
The story is penned by crime novel specialist Pattukottai Prabhakar. Durai Senthilkumar, who gave the actor star status with his previous flick, 'Edhir Neechal', wields the megaphone.
Apparently, it was actor Dhanush who produced 'Edhir Neechal' under his home banner, Wunderbar Films who wanted Karthikeyan once again on board for 'Taana' which is also made by him.
Sources say that Siva has been paid a substantial fee.
Interestingly, Amala Paul who is presently romancing Dhanush in'Velai Illa Pattadhari' is tipped to play opposite Sivakarthikeyan.
