Bangalore: The Janata Dal (S), which hopes to play a major role in a Third Front government at the Centre, has decided to start a ‘regional issue andolan' in every parliamentary constituency of the state in the run-up to the  Lok Sabha polls.

The party, which is planning to start its election campaign  after  Makara Sankranti, has instructed  local units to prepare an action plan for protests on issues concerning constituencies.

Former Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy claims the andolan will expose a series of scams that have taken place during the last six months. “Yetthinahole was a scam in the making and the next will be transfer of the Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (BMRDA) chairman, Ramamurthy, who has refused to bend the rules to accommodate the builders’ lobby.

There are several local issues, which will be handled by party units. They will  begin a series of protests in parliamentary constituencies to throw light on the maladministration of the Congress government,'' he said.

Sources said Kumaraswamy is keen on focusing on 15 parliamentary segments while  party national president H.D. Deve Gowda wants to concentrate  on just 10 constituencies.
