YSRC submits affidavit for united Andhra Pradesh to Pranab Mukherjee

Hyderabad: After submitting affidavits to President Pranab Mukherjee opposing the division of Andhra Pradesh, YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appealed to MLAs belonging to the TD and the Congress, to follow suit.

A YSRC delegation led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met the President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday at Rashtrap-athi Nilayam at Bollaram for a united Andhra Pradesh.

Later, speaking to media, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said 23 MLAs, 3 MPs and 5 MLCs gave affidavits. Transcending party lines, he requested MLAs from various other parties to join him in his endeavour for a Samaikyandhra that will make their argument strong in both the court and the Parliament as well. The YSRC?president alleged that the TD chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu,  was preventing his party MLAs from submitting affidavits because he has also to give affidavit in favour of a united state.

Targeting Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that though the CM claims to be in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh, his actions prove the opposite.

The CM has sent a circular to all the 56 departments asking for information on the issue of state division. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy also criticised Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar for visiting Uttar Pradesh to learn the process involved in its bifurcation. The YSRC?chief said that the CM and the Assembly Speaker are in a hurry for the bifurcate the state.

He asked the Seemandhra MLAs to pass a resolution demanding a united state before the discussion began on Telangana Bill. He said that his party will not allow the discussion on the Telangana Bill in the assembly until it passes a resolution on a united state. Jagan said that his party will circulate a note to the MLAs in the assembly on the problems arising out of the division. Jagan also condemned all allegations that he is splitting the APNGOs union.
