CUSAT starts new courses at School of Engineering

Syndicate also decide to open and admit students by Jan15 to the OBC boys’ hostel.

Kochi: The Syndicate of Cochin University of Science & Technology (Cusat) which met on Saturday sanctioned new MTech full time courses at School of Engineering including MTech Software Systems. 

The Syndicate also decided to open and admit students by January 15 to the new boys’ hostel for OBC students.

The construction work on the hostel was stalled for the past four years and the government recently completed the work while Cusat did the furnishing.

The Syndicate also sanctioned new buildings for the Nano centre and the Statistics Department and set apart funds for them.

The Syndicate members also appreciated the contributions of Dr Ramachandran Thekkedath who is demitting office as Vice-Chancellor on January 3.

The protest being staged by Dr Joseph Makkoli in front of Cusat also figured in the meeting but no final decision was taken on the issues raised by him.

The Syndicate meeting congratulated the Cusat team which one the overall runners-up trophy at the South Zone Inter University Youth Festival held at Bangalore University.
