'Pehelwan' Sangram was happy that he made it to the top-four of 'Bigg Boss'

Sangram Singh says he’s still amazed that a “small pehelwan” like him reached the 'Bigg Boss' house, and even its seventh season finale. “I always wanted to maintain my dignity,” Sangram said after the show’s finale on Saturday. “So I’m happy that I made it to the top-four.”

Sangram had hoped that his best friends in the house, Elli Avram and VJ Andy would be finalists too. While Elli and Andy didn’t, Sangram’s other close friend, Tanisha Mukherjee, was the first runner-up.

“I took up the show because I wanted to build a sports academy. I still want to do that. Professional wrestling is my first love and I will continue to do that, but if I get a good offer for a film or a show, I would love to take it up,” he said.

Sangram says the hardest part of being in the Bigg Boss house for over three months was how much he missed his mother, sister and girlfriend (the actress) Payal Rohatgi. Incidentally, Payal and Sangram had met while participating in another reality show, 'Survivor India'. Sangram says they’re planning their wedding. “Payal has met my mother and we’ve bought a small house in Mumbai and are thinking of the future,” he says.

Sangram says despite the measure of success he’s achieved, the days of his childhood, when he didn’t have enough money for bus fare or to buy shoes, are something he’ll never forget. “I guess that’s what helps me treat all people the same,” he says. “I don’t think of anyone as rich or poor.”
