Bangalore: The Police Commissioner has ordered an inquiry by the Assistant Commissioner of Police of KR Puram to look into the case pertaining to police negligence.

The Bharathinagar and JC Nagar police allegedly refused to register a 26-year-old woman’s complaint that she was attacked by two men near Coles Park railway footbridge.

On December 26 evening, two persons had attacked Nimmi Farook, who was on her way home. During the attack, she sustained injuries but managed to  poke the eyes of one of the accused, who was trying to snatch her mobile.

The victim’s husband alleged that getting the case registered was the biggest challenge he had to face. He first went to Bharathinagar police station, where they directed him to go to JC Nagar police station, as the incident took place in their jurisdiction.

When he explained J C Nagar police about the incident, they told him that the spot comes under Cantonment Railway police station limits.

Finally, the case was registered in Cantonment Railway police station. Following media reports, the commissioner has ordered for an inquiry into the matter by the ACP.
