SSA fixes price, colour of school uniforms
The price for one pair of shirting is Rs 64.40, suiting rs 107.40 and duppatta Rs 20.30.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) has selected colour codes for uniforms to be distributed to school students under the free uniform scheme.
It has also fixed prices the prescribed uniforms and has asked school authorities to purchase them from the open market or suppliers empanelled by the SSA.
The companies empanelled for free distribution of uniforms are Mafatlal Industries, Susuki Textiles, Alok Industries, Bansara Sintex, S Kumar Nationwide, Sanga (India), RSWM and National Textile Corporation.

The uniforms were selected by a committee appointed by the SSA to study the introduction of a common uniform for all government and aided schools.
The plan of SSA is to distribute two pairs of free uniforms to all students, except boys belonging to APL category in aided schools and upto std VIII in govt. schools.
