Guntur: Police registered a case against MLA Nakka Ananda Babu on charges of manhandling revenue staff for allegedly deleting names of TD sympathisers from the voter’s list.

Police booked a case based on a complaint lodged by the staff. Alleging irregularities in the voter’s list, the TD activists laid siege to the tahsildar’s office in Vemur on Friday.

The MLA was angry with the revenue staff for allegedly deleting names of party sympathisers and reportedly manhandled junior assistant Ch. Srinivasa Rao.

The victim lodged a complaint with the police late on Sunday night against the MLA.

Opposing the registration of a case against the MLA, the TD activists under the leadership of former minister Alapati Raja, staged a rasta roko from 1 pm to 6 pm on Tenali-Kollur on Monday.

TD activists raised slogans for against the officials. The circle inspector B. Srinivasa Rao swung into action and brought the situation under control and revived the traffic.

Speaking on this occasion, Alapati Raja alleged that the junior has filed a case against the MLA because he was S.C and questioned that if he had really manhandled him, why he did not file case three- days ago and demanded that case should be withdrawn immediately.

Meanwhile, MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy, the TD MLAs led by its district president Prattipati Pulla Rao met the district collector S.Suresh Kumar in Guntur city on Monday and submitted a memorandum stating that revenue they had filed wrong case against the MLA..

B.Srinivasa Rao said â?o We have registered a case against the MLA Ananda Babu on Sunday mid-night under the section 353 I.P.C.

TD MLAS Kommalapati Sridhar, G.V.Anajaneyulu, Nakka Ananda Babu, D.Narendra Kumar were among those met the collector.
