Mullappally Ramachandran wants a Malabar man at helm
Mullapally wants a man from Malabar to be the KPCC prez to strengthen the Cong there.
Kozhikode: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran has said that a person from Malabar region should be made the KPCC president to strengthen the Congress in there.
“The last KPCC president from Malabar was the late C.K. Govindan Nair way back in 1966. The appointment of a new KPCC president from Malabar will also help to strengthen the Congress in the region,” he said.
On the possibility of his becoming the PCC president, he said that his name was in the reckoning since 1980s.
Mullappally has been coveting the post as he is unlikely to contest from Vadakara Lok Sabha seat in the forthcoming polls as it may be allocated to the UDF ally Socialist Janata party headed by M.P. Veerendrakumar.
