On Monday the Rastrapati Nilayam at Bolarum was opened for public viewing between 10 am and 5 pm. The opulent campus will remain open till 12 January for general public. Hundreds of curious visitors including school children thronged in to the place
The tourism department has deployed guides for the visitors. The AP medicinal plant board too has deputed officials to talk to the visitors about herbal garden.

The royal dining hall of the Rashtrapati Nilayam can accommodate 32 guests at a time. The campus comprises of three wings including the President’s wing, family wing and the ADC wing.
Rashtrapati Nilayam is one of the two Presidential retreats in the country where the President enjoys his winter vacation. The exquisite interior with flashes of the Nizam era attracts tourist to the campus. As per the officials so far 705 people
The Rashtrapati Nilayam is a 154 year old building of the Nizam era and its campus is spread over 97-acres of landscaped garden. The building have several wings with 20 rooms which includes a dining hall and a movie theater.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam has been developed as an eco-friendly complex and was opened for public for the first time in 2011. Over 35,000 visitors have thronged in to the campus in 2012. President Pranab Mukherjee has visited the campus on December 19.
Cameras and mobile phones are allowed inside the Rashtrapati Nilayam and the department has also installed CCTVs for security purpose.

The herbal garden of the Rashtrapati Nilayam houses 116 species of medicinal and aromatic plants which includes Citronella, Lemon grass, Geranium, Sandalwood, Kalmegh and Tulsi to name a few.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam is bejeweled with numerous landscaped gardens which attracts elders and children alike for the colorful flowers and drizzling water fountains. The campus also have a herbal garden which was inaugurated in 2012.
