3 girl students take ill with impure water

Students are admitted to the hospital with symptoms of food poisoning over the last few days.

Nellore: Contamination of water and the stale food made some three girl students of a social welfare hostel near the Madras bus stand in Nellore, got admitted to government hospital in Nellore for treatment on Tuesday.

The girl students of state-run hostel were admitted to the hospital with symptoms of food poisoning over the last few days.

As their condition deteriorated, the doctors kept them under close observation and found that not only they consumed stale food but also drunk impure water which made them to suffer dizziness in the initial stage and then vomiting.

The hostel staff rushed the three girl students to the government hospital at Nellore for treatment.

The students were administered saline as a precautionary measure and their condition improved after undergoing treatment at hospital.

Meanwhile, the students complained that they are also being served stale food  by the hostel management.

They added that there were several occasions when they unhygienic circumsances at the kitchen where their food is prepared.
