Narendra Modi to address rally in Chennai on February 8
BJP to finalise the venue of the Modi meeting in a couple of days.
Chennai: The state unit of the BJP hopes to firm up electoral alliance with the regional parties here for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls ahead of the scheduled visit of party’s PM candidate Narendra Modi to the city on February 8.
Announcing that Modi would address a massive rally here, BJP state president Pon Radhakrishnan said the venue of the meeting would be finalised in a couple of days.
The party would begin official level parleys with Vaiko’s MDMK, the PMK and DMDK soon. “We hope to conclude the talks favourably by this month-end so that the leaders of alliance participated in the rally to be addressed by Modi,” Radhakrishnan said.
Already, the MDMK had expressed its decision to go with the saffron party in the Lok Sabha elections.
The state unit of the BJP hopes to rope in the Dr Ramadoss’ PMK, actor-politician Vijayakanth’s DMDK and two other parties — IJK and Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam. “Ours will be an alliance of victory,” he said reporters on Tuesday.
The party would celebrate the valedictory of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the Vivekananda, on January 12 in a grand manner.
“On the occasion our party members will take a pledge to strive to make Modi the prime minister of India,” Radhakrishnan said.
