Lucknow/ Bangalore: A press conference being  organised by AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, who will take on Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in the Lok Sabha polls, was on Saturday disrupted after a youth hurled an egg at him and shouted slogans against the poet-turned-politician.

Saif Jafri, a member of the Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade, said he was angry at the AAP  leader who had “insulted” Hazrat Imam Hussain and Lord Shiva during his ‘kavi sammelans’. When it was pointed out that Vishwas had apologised for such remarks, the youth argued that a “sorry” was not enough.

Meanwhile,  a day ahead of an AAP rally in Amethi, hoardings against AAP leaders have come up in the town amid reports that Gandhi might consider contesting from from Udupi-Chikmagalur, Mysore or Mandya constituencies in Karnataka, besides his home turf.

The posters and hoardings have been put up by an unknown outfit called Rashtriya  Rashtravadi Party, accusing AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Vishwas  of being “anti-national”.

On the reports about Gandhi, Vishwas dared the Congress leader to contest only from Amethi or concede defeat much before the elections.
