Errant Dwivedi shows poor spirit
Bengaluru: The quarterfinals encounter between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh here had all the ingredients of a pulsating contest. Temper tantrums, fiery exchanges and sledging has been the norm over the last four days.
But on Saturday as the visitors made their exit, sporting camaraderie was lost amidst the pressure and Eklavya Dwivedi stretched it further. The wicket-keeper who was dismissed by Abhimanyu Mithun, on his way back to the pavilion damaged a fiberglass along the ramp to the dressing room, slamming his bat into it.
The KSCA lodged a complaint with the match referee Sharath S for damage of property.
The 25-year-old was summoned by Sharath and charged with a Level-1 offence and reprimanded. Dwivedi pledged guilty and apologised in writing.
