Javed Akhtar, A lyricist, script-writer, poet, turns 68 today!
Here's wishing a veteran lyricist, scriptwriter and a proud father of Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar a very Happy Birthday!
Javed Akhtar won two prestigious awards of the state that is, Padma Shri in the year 1999 and Padma Bhushan in the year 2007.
Javed Akhtar had also worked with his children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, in a couple of films like, 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Lakshya', 'Rock On', ' Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.
But, media allegations turned false as Farhan as well as Zoya, seemed to accept their father's decision.
There was much of media speculation and criticism over Shabana Azmi's relationship with Akhtar's children Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar.
After the separation with Honey Irani, relationship between Javed Akhtar and his children Farhan and Zoya, was not well.
Shabana Azmi, is the daughter of one of the famous poet, Kaifi Azmi.
Later, Honey Irani divorced Javed Akhtar, due to his relationship with Shabana Azmi.
Javed Akhtar is a proud parent of Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, from his first marriage with Honey Irani.
After the split, Javed Akhtar decided to concentrate more as a lyricist, though he wrote some scripts, but he is most remembered for his lyrics. He has written lyrics for more than 80 films!
Sadly, Salim-Javed duo association, did not last for long. They went apart due to their ego issues. But good news is that, with 'Sholay 3D' release this year, 2014, the industry saw coming together of the two beloved duo Salim-Javed.
The duo-worked together in approximately 24 films!

After a couple of individual failures, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar decided to team up together.
Fortunately, back at that time Salim Khan was working for Abrar Alvi, director, and Javed Akhtar was working for Kaifi Azmi, director, and both of the directors were neighbours.
Mean-while Salim Khan too was failing miserably at his script-writing venture.
'Yakeen', the movie where he got his first job, flopped in the box-office. His struggle,of getting a decent job in the industry continued a while.
At a very early age he stepped in the dream city, Mumbai, to earn a place in the glamour industry. Back then he used to write dialogue of films, only for Rs. 100!
He completed his B.A. from Saifiya College, Bhopal.
He did his schooling from Colvin Taluqdars' College, Lucknow and matriculation from Aligarh Muslim University.
Javed Akhtar, lost his mother at a very early age! That is why, most of his childhood, he had spend in his relatives's house.
An interesting fact: Javed Akhtar's real name was 'Jadoo', taken from a poem, given by his father. Later he was renamed as Javed, as it was close to Jadoo.
Javed Akhtar's grandfather, Muztar Khairabadi's creation 'Majaz', is still regarded as one of the milestones in Urdu poetry.
Javed Akhtar was born in a very distinguished family, with seven generations of writers!
Javed Akhtar was born to well known poet and lyricist Jan Nisar Akhtar and Safina Akhtar, who was a teacher as well as a writer.
