Hyderabad: The Hyderabad district administration on Thursday released the list of 152 unrecognised schools located in the city.

The district administration has warned the managements that unless they apply for recognition immediately, their schools will be seized and will not be allowed to function from the coming academic year in June.

The department of school education had identified 497 unrecognised schools last year and issued notices. Subsequently, 111 schools had secured recognition, while the applications of another 146 schools are in various stages of approval.

The remaining 152 schools did not bother to respond to the notices served by the Office of the Hyderabad District Education Officer.

The department has decided to conduct zonal-wise meetings on January 21, 22 and 23 with the managements of these 152 unrecognised schools and issue ‘closure notices’ on the spot, which will be applicable from coming academic year in June, if they fail to apply for recognition immediately.
