Sachin Tendulkar felicitated by Velammal school

Chennai: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar today shared his experiences of life with the students of Velammal Group of Schools, who gave a gala welcome to the retired Indian batsman during a felicitation programme here today.
"There will be tough times in life but you should never give up. In tough times tough people last," said Tendulkar, who along with his wife Anjali were welcomed by Velammal Educational Trust Chairman MV Muthuramalingam during the felicitation programme.
Tendulkar said: "Whether it is a memorable day for you or not, it definitely will be a memorable day in my life." During the interactive session, Tendulkar, who holds almost all coveted batting records, said that "all records are made to be broken and if his records are broken, it better be by an Indian".
The 40-year-old cricketer, who retired in November last year, said he adored Sunil Gavaskar and Vivian Richards as his heroes. Tendulkar also praised Ravi Shastri, Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni for their captaincy.
Tendulkar felicitated the 480 Young Velammalians who achieved in the arena of sports at international and national levels, and in academics to secured Free Educational Scholarship worth Rs. 27 lakhs. He also unveiled the foundation stone of The Velammal Cricket Academy.
