Vasisht and Rawat book final clash

Bengaluru: The top two seeds, C.Vasisht of Karn­ataka and Mayuk Rawat of Uttarakhand booked their place in the final of the boys singles event of the KTPPA-AITA Na­tional Series U-16 tennis Championship at the KSLTA Stadium here on Friday.

Vasisht outplayed P.C.Anirudh 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinal, while Mayuk defeated Vignesh Subramanya 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

It was also end of the road for Karnataka’s S.Soha who went down to the top seed R.Abinikka of Tamil Nadu 2-6, 2-6 in the girl’s singles semi-finals.

Abinikka will meet Rishika Ravi, who battled past Sarah Dev of Punjab at 1-6, 7-6 ( 4 ), 7-6 ( 1 ), in  the final.

Girls: R.Abinikka (TN) bt S.Soha (Kar)  6-2, 6-2; Rishika Ravi (TN) bt  Sarah Dev (Pnb) 1-6, 7-6 ( 4 ), 7-6 (1).

Doubles: Shivani Manjanna (Kar) / Rishika Ravi (TN) bt S.Soha / Nikita Pinto (Kar) 5-7, 6-2, 10-8; Sarah Dev/ Baani Singh (Pnb) bt R.Abinikka (TN) /Sai Harsha Challa  6-3, 3-6, 10-3.

 Boys doubles (final): Yugal Bansal (Del) / Utkarsh Bharadwaj (Utk) bt Akash Nandhawal (MP) /  Anshuman Gulia (Del) 6-3, 4-6, 14-12.
