Bangalore: One week after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched its membership drive in the city, the state party unit has received over 1 lakh registrations.

According to estimates, nearly 1,500 are joining the party everyday. Siddharth Sharma, convener, AAP (Karnataka), said, “We are yet to get a final number of registrations, as there are many windows for people to register. They can send SMS, give a missed call or submit application forms online, apart from manually submitting them.

We have close to 1.5 lakh new members in the last seven days.” Regarding enrollments, AAP Secretary Sumith said, “We are receiving maximum number of membership forms from Bangalore South and Central constituencies. Also, many people from Bangalore South and North are very keen to contest Lok Sabha polls.”
