Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti has made a demand asking the state to withdraw a GO that will regularise land allotted to IT companies, despite their flouting conditions.

TRS politburo member B. Vinod Kumar sought immediate cancellation of GO Ms No.3 dated January 20, relating to land allocation to the IT industry.

“If this GO is not withdrawn immediately, it will be done after Telangana state is formed. There will also be a review of the IT sector. Companies which are contributing to growth of the state will be given support. Action will be initiated on those that are flouting rules,”?he said.

He added that the Telangana state would welcome investments in the IT sector and provide employment to regain the brand image of Hyderabad. Vinod lashed out at “some fictitious IT companies, particularly from certain lobby groups”.

He alleged, “Some IT companies close to the earlier CMs Chandrababu Naidu, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Rosaiah, Kiran Kumar Reddy— all from Seemandhra region— have received land and other facilities. These companies have not fulfilled their legal obligations. They are now lobbying for the GO.”

The GO clearly demonstrates that in the name of IT many lands have been allocated without adding employment and revenue to the state, he said.

“Some of these companies, which have existed only on paper, have received hundreds of acres of land. Some of these companies have already sold some of the land, merged with other companies and transferred land in exchange for money or shares,”?he claimed.

TRS has demanded that the government should make public details of land allotted to IT companies, employment generated and all land sale transactions of these companies, in the past 20 years.
