Mahesh Bhatt says Kajol is ‘overrated’
After calling SLB an overrated director, Mahesh Bhatt has now named Kajol as the “most overrated actress” in the Hindi film industry.

After calling Sanjay leela Bhansali an overrated director, Mahesh Bhatt has now named Kajol as the “most overrated actress” in the Hindi film industry.
The filmmaker made the comment on Koffee with Karan, apparently leaving host Karan Johar speechless.
Apparently, KJo wasn’t happy about his favourite actress and friend being run down by Bhatt saab. While Mahesh has defended his remarks, on the grounds that they were made in a “frivolous, light-hearted context”, a source from Karan’s production house Dharma said the team felt the comment against Kajol was uncalled for.
“Kajol has proved herself as an actress in films like 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' and 'Fanaa', among others. She is the only actress of her generation to have retained her box office viability. Mahesh’s daughter Pooja worked with Kajol in 'Dushman'. How can she be called ‘overrated’?” our source wondered.
Like Karan, Mahesh too has been known to play favourites, and the careers of Kangana Ranaut and Emraan Hashmi owe a fair bit to Bhatt saab.
