Wawrinka is the first player in over 20 years to beat the no. 1 and no. 2 seeds to win the Australian Open title.

Despite Nadal's Herculean effort, Stan is quite determined to step up to the plate and do what is required to win his maiden Grand Slam title.

In a dramatic turn around, Nadal wins the third set 6-3. Shows again why he's one of the best. This match is not over yet. Vamos Rafa, though Nadal is clearly struggling with that back of his.

6-2 in the second set, Wawrinka has a two set lead. The crowd is quiet for sometime now, they clearly don't like what they're seeing. If there is one man who can comeback from this and win its Nadal. But, all credits to Wawrinka for the fine tennis on display.
Stan is furious about Nadal wlking off the court, hope this does'nt affect his concentration. Meanwhile, Nadal is back on court after 7 mins and 22 seconds. Wawrinka dishes out some quick points to go 3-1 up in the second set.
After being 0-2 behind, Nadal wins his service game. But is out of the Arena on injury time out.

It's Nadal's turn to experience nerves, Stan servived three break points in the last game to take a set to love lead. Nadal has to bring his fighting qualities to the fore in the second set.
Stanislas Wawrinka wins the first set after some interesting moments in that final game of the set. Stan had 12 winners to Nadal's 6. This is the first time Stan Wawrinka has won a set against Nadal.
Wawrinka showing no signs of nerves as he breaks the Nadal serve as early as in the 4th game to go 4-1 up in the first set.
Rafael Nadal will start as favourites to win the first grand slam of the New Year as Wawrinka will do all that is possible to stop Nadal from winning the title.
