Juhi, the bad woman
Actress talks about working with Madhuri and her negative role in 'Gulaab Gang'
Juhi Chawla is looking forward to her upcoming film 'Gulaab Gang', especially as she plays a negative character for the first time. This is also the actress’ first movie with Madhuri Dixit.
“Madhuri Dixit and I were both happy to be working together for the first time,” says Juhi. When director Soumik Sen narrated this story to her she wondered if he had lost the plot!
“Offering me the bad-woman role? ‘What made you choose me for this character’, I asked him. But he convinced me. And thanks to Shoumik I performed so ‘bad’ in this negative character. Now I feel, if I had not accepted the role I would have missed something very important in my reel life,” says Juhi.
About working with Madhuri, she says, “Earlier I would never have liked to work with Madhuri merely because she is such a good dancer and a great actor. I would think Madhuri hai toh mein kya kar sakti hoon? But after we chatted on the first day I understood that if I had not performed with Madhuri, I would have surely deprived myself of her company."
