India eves hit back to level T20 series
Hyderabad: Indian women hit back with a nine-run victory to level the three-match Twenty20 International series at the Dr P.V.G. Raju Andhra Cricket Sports Complex at Vizianagaram on Sunday.
India, who had lost the first match by three wickets on Saturday, scored a decent 127 for the loss of eight wickets after being asked to bat first.
Jhulan Goswami, Amita Sharma and S.M. Dabir all top-scored for the hosts with 23 runs while Lankan skipper Shashikala Siriwardene scalped 2 for 24.
In reply, India restricted Sri Lanka to 118 for 8 to keep the series alive. Chamari Atapattu top-scored for Sri Lanka with 40 while Jhulan, Amita, Dabir and Rajeswari Gayekwad bagged one wicket each.
