Kajal is back in Tollywood
After taking a couple of months off for her sister’s marriage, the actress is back
Kajal Aggarwal had been absent in T-town since Baadshah, which had released last April. She says that it was a conscious decision to take it slow.
“I was busy with two Tamil films, and my sister’s marriage took place. So I took two months off for that,” says Kajal.
“For the past nine years I have really worked hard. I wanted to do some meaningful cinema. I would like do one film after another, not six films at once. I wanted to give some time for myself too. That’s the reason I have been choosy… it’s a conscious effort to do some good cinema,” says Kajal, adding that remuneration had nothing to do with staying away from Tollywood.
The actress is also happy with the success of Yevadu, in which she had a cameo. “I did this cameo because of Dil Raju, Charan, Bunny and director Vamsi, who are all good friends,” she says adding, “Actually I knew the story two years back and they had offered me Shruti Haasan’s character, but at that time I didn’t have dates. But I wanted to be part of this project so I played a cameo.”
Her pairing with Charan has been a hit and she says that she looks forward to doing more movies with the star. In fact, Kajal and Charan will be seen together for another film to be directed by Krishna Vamsi.
Though she has been doing a few Bollywood films, Kajal is very sure about where her priorities lie. “It’s always been only South. I am doing one Hindi and five South films. So I have always favoured South. At present, there are no Hindi films in the pipeline,” she adds.
Talking about marriage plans, she says that there’s still plenty of time. “I am not planning to get married anytime soon. I am very busy with work. I am enjoying my work right now. Of course, marriage will happen, but not right now. May be two to three years later,” she says.
The actress has also signed a Tamil film apart from the Krishna Vamsi film.
