Visuals show Mohanan meeting Faiz in prison

Kozhikode: The closed circuit television camera visuals of CPM leader P. Mohanan interacting with T.K. Faiz, accused in the Nedumbassery gold smuggling case, at the Kozhikode district jail were aired by a news channel on Wednesday.

The visuals recorded on June 8 afternoon show the interaction between Faiz and Mohanan in the room of the jail welfare officer. The meeting lasted for 15 minutes.

Mohanan had claimed earlier that there was  no evidence for his meeting with smuggler after the visuals of Faiz visiting the prison in the guise of an Arab were leaked out by channels.

It is for the first time the visuals of Mohanan closely interacting with Faiz were released.

K.K. Rema, wife of slain RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, demanded an investigation into the murky deeds between the CPM leader and the smuggler.

The visit of Faiz had taken place when the TPC murder trial  was on at the special additional sessions court, Eranhippalam.

The court had acquitted Mohanan the other day.
