Telangana move to contain Jagan: MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy
Kiran Kumar Reddy being used to weaken YSRC chief: Mekapati.
Nellore: YSR Congress leader and Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, has alleged that the Congress was trying to project Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy as a champion of Samaikyandhra in a bid to contain the popularity of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to media persons at the YSR Congress district office here on Wednesday, he said that the move to separate Telangana was also meant to weaken Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Rajamohan Reddy said people would teach the Congress a lesson once its game is exposed.
“I believe that the state will remain undivided since Thursday is the last day for discussion on the issue and the BJP is unlikely to vote in favour of Telangana Bill if the Assembly rejects the Bill. It is wrong on the part of the Union government to go ahead with the division without resolving serious issues such as sharing of water,”?Rajamohan Reddy observed.
He struck down the possibility of separate elections for Parliament and Assembly, while reminding that the tenure of state and central governments were coming to an end by February 21.
“There is hardly any time for the bifurcation process,”?he said.
Reacting to a question on lack of migrations to YSR Congress from other parties, he attributed the trend to their inability to offer seats for new comers.
Rajamohan Reddy declared that their party has decided not to contest the Rajya Sabha election and not to back anyone.
