Padmini Reddy expresses desire to contest from Sangareddy Assembly constituency
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha’s wife Padmini Reddy announced her political career on Sunday and expressed her desire to contest from the Sangareddy Assembly constituency in the general elections.
While speaking to the media, she said “I am ready to contest from Sangareddy Assembly constituency if the people want.” At present, Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy who is close to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is representing the constituency. Ms Padmini Reddy lashed out at the MLA for declaring that he would capture polling booths in the next elections and will secure more than a lakh vote majority. Ms Reddy complained against this to President Pranab Mukherjee, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Justice of AP High court Kalyan Sengupta, and the Chief Election Commissioner. She said that she had written letters to various political party leaders against Jagga Reddy’s open statement on booth capturing.
She requested them to take stringent action against the legislator for making such statements in public.
