Gionee is trying its best to stand out from rest in the Chinese market and seems to prove it with the unveiling of the world’s slimmest phone, the Elife S5.5. According to Engadget, the new flagship model edges out the 5.75mm Vivo X3 which is the present slimmest model. Just as a reference for you, the iPhone 5s measures 7.6mm in thickness. As far as the thickness is concerned, the battery life is what would be of major concern, However, Gionee claims that the onboard 2300mAh battery of the S5.5 lasts all day.

The Elife S5.5 sports a 5-inch display and features Gionee's "Amigo" Android-based OS. It is not yet confirmed, but under the hood lays a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 13 megapixel camera with a 5 megapixel front camera. The 3G model is presently available for pre-order in China for around $370. The LTE version will be arriving later in June. Gionee also claims to launch the phone in 40 other countries soon
