Hyderabad : Accusing the Congress-TRS-YSR Congress nexus of bifurcating the state to decimate the Telugu Desam, its president N. Chandrababu Naidu said his party alone was capable of leading reconstruction efforts in both the new states. "The Telugu Desam will build the new capital with modern infrastructure. The TD had developed the state and Hyderabad city and put the same on the international map. YSR Congress knows only Chanchalguda jail," he quipped.Mr Naidu met Seemandhra Telugu Desam leaders on Monday to prepare a roadmap for the coming elections and ensure a big win for the party. On Saturday, he met Telangana Telugu Desam leaders.

The TD chief is reportedly in an upbeat mood in view of the favourable reports for the party in Seemandhra and an influx of leaders from the Congress and other parties, including some ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao, T.G. Venkatesh and Erasu Pratap Reddy planning to join the party on February 27.

"The state and Hyderabad city was developed by the Telugu Desam. KCR only indulged in vasool (collections) in Hyderabad, but did not develop it. The TD will win in Seemandhra and Telangana," he asserted.Mr Naidu took a dig at TRS chief for taking his family members to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, ignoring leaders who fought for Telangana. "How can KCR ignore T movement leaders and take only family members to Sonia Gandhi? It shows his true colours," he said.

Mr Naidu claimed that the BCs were with the Telugu Desam in the Telangana region and other parts of the state. The TD supremo believes that the Congress will perish in the coming elections. "An anti Congress wave is sweeping across the country. Congress burial is imminent. The Congress split Telugus for political gain and now the people will teach a fitting lesson to the Congress. Surveys indicate that the Congress will not get more than 70-80 Lok Sabha seats in the next polls. Congress has survived with vote bank politics and never developed the country," the TD chief said.

Mr Naidu claimed that the Congress was planning to merge with the TRS before the polls. "The Congress-TRS-YSRC nexus has become a reality. I had predicted it long back," he said.
