Hyderabad: The TRS-Congress honeymoon suffered a severe jolt on Thursday with TRS lodging a strong protest against the Congress decision to admit two TRS leaders into the party. The TRS is peeved at the Congress welcoming TRS MP Vijayashanti and Mancherial MLA Arvind Reddy into the party even while talking about the merger of the TRS with the Congress. TRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao said the Congress behaviour was not correct and created ill-will between the two parties.

Going by the war of words between the two parties, the merger of the TRS with the Congress has literally sunk for the moment. The TRS has decided to discuss the issue on March 1 and take appropriate  decision on its friendship with the Congress.  Mr Harish Rao also criticised Union minister Jairam Ramesh’s comments against the party leadership and comparing the TRS with the Aam Aadmi Party.

“His comments are irresponsible. What is the message the Congress is sending by admitting our party leaders? The Cong-ress is trying to poke us. Is this the way the Congress should treat us while planning to work together,” he remarked.

He said the Congress leaders’ behaviour and comments were polluting the Congress-TRS relationship. “KCR is angry at the Congress stance against TRS, especially its decision to admit Ms Vijaya-shanti and Mr Arvind Reddy. He is very upset with the comments made by Mr Arvind Reddy” a TRS leader said.
