Panasonic’s ‘Space Player’ to be available in July
Space Player offers ambient lighting designs for interior and exterior spaces
Panasonic Corporation has announced that it has developed the ‘Space Player’, a new type of lighting equipment and will be available on sale from July 1, 2014. It includes the features of traditional lighting and video projectors, which creates new options and ideas in spatial lighting for the ambient lighting market.
The newly developed device is in the shape of a spotlight, allowing it to fit in any surroundings and adopts a wiring duct installation method, which can enable lighting direction to be freely changed. It also has the ability to playback from SD cards or over a Wi-Fi network.
Space Player includes dimming and color controls. It has also used its lighting software technology- ‘Feu’ numerical index for illumination design,and quantitatively measures the spatial brightness experienced. This device will be available in variant colors like black and white.
Through the creation of a new projection lighting market, the company will also aim to achieve sales of 20 billion yen for its whole ambient lighting business, including the Space Player, by March 31, 2019.
