Ruling state not easy as agitation, says Jairam Ramesh
Bifurcation to bring social justice to the poor and downtrodden
Hyderabad: Union minister Jairam Ramesh said that ruling a state well was not as easy as spearheading an agitation for a cause. Participating in Congress workers meeting at Sangareddy on Sunday, he said the Congress is strong in Telangana even without an alliance with TRS.
Mr Jairam Ramesh’s comments assume significance in the wake of indifference between the TRS and Congress over the alliance issue. He said that the Congress is ready to have an alliance with like-minded parties. Mr Ramesh said that Andhra Pradesh state was not bifurcated just for votes and seats as Opposition parties allege, but to bring social justice to the poor and downtrodden.
Commenting on Purandeswari, he said she changed loyalty after enjoying power for eight years. He also criticised Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy for floating a party.
