‘It’s all for Aishwaryaa Dhanush’
I have a good character role in 'Vai Raja Vai', says Gayathri Raghuram
Gayathri Raghuram of Whistle and Charlie Chaplin fame is now acting in Aishwaryaa Dhanush’s Vai Raja Vai, after a long time, and has also choreographed for a love duet in the film.
Gayathri was not seen on screen for a long time, and now she says that she chose this role in the film just for her childhood friend Aishwaryaa Dhanush.
“I have a good character role in Vai Raja Vai. I am the sister to the protagonist Gautham Karthik,” she says.
“I agreed to act in this film for Aishwarya, my best friend, and I also loved the role she offered me. I also acted in a commercial recently as I had the opportunity to share screen space with Suriya. It doesn’t mean I won’t act in the near future. But if the script is really good, and if I get meaty roles that suit me I won’t hesitate to take them up. After all, I started in this industry as an actor, choreography happened later.”
Her upcoming projects as a choreographer include songs for Balaji Mohan’s Vai Moodi Pesavum, and the recently released Nimirndhu Nil.
“Vai Raja Vai is a very different film, and I am proud to be part of it. We shot most of the scenes in Chennai and a few in Singapore. The film is almost over and it will be releasing soon. The song that I choreographed is a beautiful love duet, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, it was shot in Japan.”
