‘Modi for PM’ meet fails to attract crowd
Only 1,000 people attended BJP’s ‘Modi for PM’ campaign meet in Tirupati
Tirupati: The BJP’s much publicised ‘Modi for PM’ campaign meet held in the temple town of Tirupati on Monday evoked very little response from the people of Chittoor district. Only about a 1,000 people attended the meet as local BJP leaders failed to mobilise crowds.
Senior BJP leader M.Venkaiah Naidu, who reached the temple town on Monday, flagged off a bike rally at the Poorna-kumbam circle. The rally passed through the arterial roads of Tirupati before reaching the Nehru Municipal High School grounds, the venue of the public meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Naidu stressed on the historic necessity to vote for the BJP to rebuild the nation which he said was in ruins owing to the decade-long corrupt rule of the Congress-led UPA governments. The BJP leader criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi for leading the state into an absolute turmoil.
He urged the people to vote the nation in the right direction by supporting the BJP led by a “visionary leader” like Narendra Modi, who he said was decisive, dynamic and development oriented.
