The CEO of the Censor Board, Rakesh Kumar, recently faced the ire of Kajol, who has always been known to speak her mind.

At the recent FICCI FRAMES-2014, Kajol targeted Kumar and said that it was not fair that the Censor Board had different yardsticks for Bollywood and the South industry. The Board’s norms for South India are much stricter.

When Kumar tried to justify it by saying that the South had certain social restrictions, Kajol interjected, “But films are films, in whatever language. Giving cuts to South films on the basis of religious thought process is totally incorrect and curbing creativity is not good...”

“Why should we (film fraternity) be treated as a morale brigade? Films shown truthfully need not necessarily get cuts just because the Censor Board feels that any negative gesture will encourage the audiences to do wrong things,” she added later.
