Mumbai: Eleven days after cracking the murder case of TCS techie Esther Anuhya, following the arrest of 28-year-old repeat offender Chandrabhan Sanap, the police is still to recover her laptop from Titwala, where, Sanap claims, he had thrown it off the train. A massive hunt has been launched to retrieve the laptop with at least three teams from the crime branch scouring the area.
“We are now physically searching the entire seven-eight kilometre stretch between Khadavli and Titwala stations. The laptop is yet to be found,” said a crime branch officer.
Meanwhile, Sanap has begun making contradictory statements about the spot where the laptop was thrown, sources said. “He first said that he threw the laptop in the river below the Khadavli bridge, but he now claims that he threw it near the railway tracks,” said an officer.
