Four pilgrims from Tamil Nadu killed in accident

The accident took place at Pakala, 40 kms from Tirupati

Tirupati: Four pilgrims from Tamil Nadu were killed and an equal number seriously injured when they were hit by a van while proceeding on foot to the hill temple

of Lord Venkateswara on Thursday morning.

The accident took place at Pakala, 40 kms from here, police said.

While two of them died on the spot, the remaining breathed their last in a hospital. All the victims hailed from Dharmapuri district, police said.

The van driver is absconding.
