Hyderabad: Beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme are now running from pillar to post as they can no longer avail cashless services from hospitals.

Agitated pensioners have pleaded to the Governor to look into the issue and help them avail of credit facilities. All elective surgeries are being postponed and only emergency or critical care patients are being taken care of in the hospitals. As private hospitals stopped the services from March 7, the first three days saw a lot of patients.

But after that, the CGHS dispensaries have stopped referring these beneficiaries. The amount for insurance has been deducted from their salaries too.

The pensioners have demanded that the government work towards resolving the situation. Most elective surgeries for cataract operations and other surgeries have been postponed in Hyderabad.

Those who are going for emergency have been told to pay to the hospital only on the rates of CGHS.
