BV Raghavulu predicts merger of new political parties with Congress after polls
‘Floating of new political parties before polls is Congress's attempt to gain numbers’
Tirupati: CPI (M) State secretary BV Raghavulu observed that the new political parties being floated right in the face of elections are likely to go the Praja Rajyam way, which made tall claims before the 2009 general elections but could not stand alone for long and merged with Congress soon after polls.
Mr Raghavulu, who arrived in Tirupati to attend a protest rally, told mediapersons that the Jai Samaikhyandhra Party of former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and a new party formed by actor Pawan Kalyan will not last for long and will soon merge with Congress after the upcoming general elections.
He said the floating the new political parties just days ahead of the Lok Sabha polls is a desperate attempt by the Congress party to gain numbers in Andhra Pradesh.
Raghavulu added that every political party is either showing double standards or making a U-turn but CPI (M) stands strong for the integrity of Andhra Pradesh and would fight to demand a special package for the state.
