Hyderabad: Andhra Congress leaders have come down heavily on actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan's tirade against the party high command at the launch of his political outfit Jana Sena on Friday.

Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka called the actor a "baby crow". Mohammad Ali Shabbir alleged Pawan Kalwan was mentally unstable. Vikramarka said: "People criticise the Congress for mileage. Pawan should stop day-dreaming and face reality."

Telangana Congress Committee Working President Uttam Kumar said Pawan Kalyan was a "kid" who delivered film dialogues during his party's launch. He asked why Pawan was silent about the problems of Telangana when the statehood movement raged.

Shabbir Ali alleged Pawan Kalyan had an illicit relationship with a woman and married her only when her father approached him. However, he divorced her later. Describing him as a "joker" and a "bacha" (child), he said that Pawan lacked mental stability.

Congress MPs Ponnam Prabhkar and S Rajaiah have threatened to "rip Pawan's skin off" if he ever repeated those remarks. One who fails in family life can't do anything good for the public, they felt.

Party activists also burnt effigies of Pawan Kalyan in Visakhapatnam and other places in the State.
