Elections 2014: Karunanidhi to hit campaign trail from April 5

The 90-year-old leader will cover 19 constituencies

Chennai: DMK President M Karunanidhi is set to launch his 12-day election campaign for Lok Sabha elections from Coimbatore on April 5, the party announced on Tuesday.

The 90-year-old leader will cover 19 constituencies, including those allotted to allies such as Chidambaram and Tiruvallore (VCK) and Vellore (IUML), a party statement said.

Madurai, Tircuhirappalli, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Thanjavur and Cuddalore are among the constituencies the DMK chief will be covering as part of his campaign for the April 24 polls.

He will wind up his electioneering in central Chennai, where his grandnephew and former IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran is testing his fortunes for a third time.
