Sales bump up for Windows 7 as XP will finally rest
Windows 7 seems to be the next choice for most XP upgrade seekers
Microsoft will no longer service Windows XP from the first week of April 2014. The end-of-life confirmation has marked a huge worry from the Windows XP user market. Almost 30 percent Windows users worldwide are on Windows XP and have preferred to shift to Windows 7 rather than Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. The main reason behind this choice is that Windows 8 has a lot of changes as compared to the older 7 and XP variants. The reason is the tiled (Metro UI) interface and the missing start button, which some users find difficult to adapt to.
According to SoftPedia, Microsoft Windows & has marked a double-fold sale between June 2013 and Jan 2014. The results came in from eCommerce analyst, Terapeak, which shows the sales of Windows 7 selling like hot cakes.
