Mumbai: Popular TV actor Karanvir Bohra, who participated in action-adventure show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' says one has to be mentally strong to perform stunts.

Karanvir, 31, did the show primarily to overcome his fear of height and performing under pressure. "For doing stunts mental balance was important... One has to be strong mentally more than physically. But that doesn't mean the physicality was not important. Before starting a stunt there is this feeling of nervousness as to what kind of stunt it will be, will I be able to perform," Karanvir told PTI in an interview here.

"There was this fear of not performing like a loser. You don't want people to laugh on you while you perform stunts," he added. But he did complete all his stunts right from falling off a chopper to under water action and bungee jumping.

"I was disappointed as I couldn't reach to the finals but I am glad to reach closer to it (the finals). Overall it was an enriching experience as one couldn't dare and do the stunts we did," he said.

The actor participated in the fifth season of the show alongwith his wife Teejay Sidhu. "She was there for me and I was there for her. We both motivated each other. Besides getting nervous for myself I used to get anxious and pray for her when she used to do her stunts," Karanvir said.

The actor, who was all praise for the host of this season director Rohit Shetty, said he was a great motivator and pushed him to perform his best.

The other celebrities who participated in the show include Ranvir Shorey, Nikitin Dheer, Dayanand Shetty, Gauhar Khan, Kushal Tandon, Mugdha Godse, Salman Yusuff Khan, Rochelle Maria Rao, Rajniesh Duggall, and stuntwoman Geeta Tandon among others.

The show has already been shot in South Africa, except the winner announcement which will be filmed in Mumbai.

The show will go on air from March 22 on Colors channel.
