'I will win against Nandan Nilekani': BJP candidate Ananth Kumar

BJP's Ananth Kumar, wife Tejaswini and daughter Vijetha own assets worth Rs 4.92 crore

Bengaluru: BJP national general secretary and Bangalore South Lok Sabha candidate H.N. Ananth Kumar filed his nomination papers here on Wednesday. Reiterating his earlier statement that, the battle for Bangalore South is between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, Mr Kumar said voters know that the election is intended to elect a central government and a Prime Minister.

Mr Kumar claimed his opponent and Congress candidate Nandan Nilekani will lose the election because the electorate in Bangalore South constituency is aware about national political issues. He predicted that the BJP will win 20 plus seats in Karnataka. “In every election, the Congress has fielded a debutant against me but it could not  succeed in its attempt”, Mr. Kumar said.

The five time MP also submitted details of assets and liabilities to the returning officer. Mr. Kumar, his wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and daughter Vijetha own total assets worth Rs 4.92 crore including movable and immovable properties. Mr. Kumar and his family have Rs. 3.69 crore worth immovable properties with Tejaswini Ananth Kumar owning a commercial complex worth Rs 3.18 crore at Vijayanagara in Hubli.

Mr Kumar has a house measuring 2,452 sq.feet worth Rs. 9.67 lakh at Indira colony in Hubli.  Ms. Tejaswini has immovable property worth Rs. 40 lakh.

BJP candidate for Bangalore Central, P.C. Mohan too filed his nomination. After filing his nomination, Mr. Mohan said that all section of people want Mr Modi to become Prime Minister of the country. “I am confident of winning the elections because, I have undertaken many developmental works in my constituency”, Mr. Mohan said.

Former Chief Ministers B.S.Yeddyurappa, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, BJP candidate for Uttar Kannada, Ananth Kumar Hegde, Dakshina Kannada candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mysore candidate Pratap Simha will filed nominations on Thursday.
