Al-Qaeda urges British jihadists to blow up sporting events attended by Queen
Security around the Monarch has been further tightened
Washington: British jihadists could reportedly be planning bomb attacks targeting Premiere League matches and sporting events watched by the Queen.
Security around the Monarch was tightened after al-Qaeda chiefs persuaded terrorists to carry out attacks during the sports events that were likely to be visited by Queen Elizabeth II.
According to CNN, the terrorist group produced an article on English-language online magazine Inspire, giving tips on car bombing and disguises along with a list of potential high-profile targets around the globe.
The al Qaeda wrote that the best time was after the final whistle, when huge crowds leave the stadium and celebrate around the entrances.
Meanwhile, taking note of the al-Qaeda article, a spokesman for the Scotland Yard said that appropriate steps have been put in place, including providing relevant security advice.
